Candela Vbeam®
Pulsed Dye Laser (PDL) Systems
The Candela Vbeam® is an advanced pulsed-dye laser designed to safely and effectively treat vascular conditions, redness, and certain types of scars and skin concerns.
By selectively targetting hemoglobin without damaging surrounding structures, Vbeam remains the clinical gold standard for dermatologists and plastic surgeons worldwide.

Delivers concentrated flashes of yellow light to blood vessels.
The ideal energy band for maximum absorption by hemoglobin.
Heats and collapses vessels while keeping surrounding skin safe.
Pre-sprays cryogen cooling fluid to protect and numb the skin surface.
How Vbeam Works
Vbeam uses a 595 nm wavelength that is selectively absorbed by hemoglobin—the pigment found in red blood cells inside blood vessels.
The laser delivers controlled, brief pulses of light energy directly to the targeted vessels. This targeted heating causes the vessel walls to collapse and seal. Over time, the body naturally clears the treated vascular tissue, leaving the skin clear and uniform in color.
Dynamic Cooling Device (DCD™)
To maximize safety and patient comfort, Candela integrates patented DCD™ technology.
This system delivers a micro-spray of cryogen cooling liquid onto the outer layer of the skin milliseconds before each laser pulse fires. The quick blast of cold cools the epidermis, reducing pain sensations and preventing surface burns, allowing operators to use higher, more effective laser energies safely.
What Can Vbeam Treat?
Vbeam is widely used to treat a variety of vascular, pigmented, and dermatologic conditions, including:
Targets diffusing redness and persistent flushing associated with rosacea.
Treats visible superficial veins, telangiectasias, and broken capillaries.
Resolves congenital vascular malformations and deep birthmarks.
Fades cherry angiomas, strawberry hemangiomas, and vascular growths.
Flattens raised scars, improves elasticity, and reduces redness.
Improves skin tone and texture for stretch marks and certain skin conditions.
What to Expect During & After Treatment
Vbeam treatments are typically tolerated well by patients due to the cryogen spray cooling. The laser pulse is often described as feeling like a snap of a rubber band or a warm pinch.
Depending on the settings, patients may experience temporary redness, mild swelling, or purpura (bruise-like purple spots) immediately post-treatment. This is a normal clinical endpoint indicating targeted blood vessel disruption. These side effects typically fade within 3 to 10 days as the body clears the cellular debris.
